Days 4 and 5, wed and thur 14th+15th

Day 4. Wednesday 14th.

First day shift today, job seems quite straight forward, pretty old school and outdated but expected as much.

I booked onto an R&R helicopter trip with the heli-taskers for Saturday. I am on a night shift on Friday night but figured I can just recover from it later! We will be going to sea-lion island to see penguins, sea-lions obviously and killer whales! Very exciting! One of the other met people is coming too so I won't be Billy no mates. The met office are letting me have the van on Sunday, my day off, so I will go to Berther's beach to see even more penguins, yay!!!

Day 5 Thursday 15th November

It's been warm and sunny the whole time I have been here. Today it is a little cloudy and the wind has picked up "a bit" apparently. I went for a jog this morning and almost got blown over!!

Just waiting to go for lunch then this afternoon we will be visiting the typhoons and get to sit in it, so I'll put a pic up of that later!!

Well, I've got a lot on this week! I popped down to the travel information desk, to see what I can get out and do. There are loads of options, even if I can't get the work car. The lady, Nancy, was ever so nice so I stayed nattering on to her for ages. I asked where I could get some Falklands islands wool from, an she said she goes to spinning classes and makes her own and she's going to take me with her next Wednesday! So we're gunna have a day out Darwin. (You will have to google map these places to see where I am).

Exciting!!! It's my first night shift tonight - I'm used to having a good few hours kip at Odiham but have a feeling I will be up all night here!!!!
